FAQ
What is Bruin Giving Day?
Bruin Giving Day is UCLA's annual day of giving. This 48-hour fundraising initiative, which will take place on Tuesday, April 29 through Wednesday, April 30, unites the UCLA community in support of our schools and colleges, student programs, resources, and campus initiatives.
When can I make a gift?
Early-bird giving will open up on the site at 5 p.m. PST on Monday, April 28. Giving on this site will close at 12 a.m. PST on Thursday, May 1.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
For your records, UCLA’s federal taxpayer ID number for gifts to the UCLA Foundation is 95-2250801. Please visit the UCLA Foundation disclosures site for additional information.
If you have questions, please reach out to our Donor Relations team via email to gifts@support.ucla.edu or call (310) 794-2447.
How do matches and challenges work?
Matches and challenges add a flair of fun and competition to Bruin Giving Day! Challenge gifts have been pledged by generous donors to UCLA. Once a challenge goal is met, a special challenge amount becomes unlocked and donated to the designated fund or cause area.
Challenge goals may be based on gifts received or the amount of dollars raised. Matching gifts are dollar-for-dollar donation matches, up to a certain amount. When you make your gift, our matching donors will make an equal gift.
What are my payment options?
Donations are accepted via credit card and PayPal.
What should I do if I cannot find my preferred gift designation?
If you have an interest in supporting other departments or programs at UCLA, visit our fund search page once giving is live on the site, or contact ucla@support.ucla.edu.

Throughout the 48-hour giving campaign, Bruin Giving Day will utilize various social media platforms to engage the Bruin community.
UCLA administers all identity-conscious financial aid in compliance with federal, state, and university regulations using a “pool and match" application process for unrestricted awards, identity-conscious awards, and other restricted awards (major, need, community service, etc.). UCLA’s scholarship process is Proposition 209 compliant and abides by laws and best practices. For more information visit: https://prospective-ugstudents-ucla.academicworks.com/
